How Do I Become a Foster Parent?<\/span><\/p>\n

Any caregiving adult living in the home is required to complete Oasis training for the home to be certified. Training sessions are scheduled after the initial application has been submitted and reviewed.<\/p>\n\n

Benefits of Becoming a Therapeutic Home<\/h4>\n

Foster parents are reimbursed monthly, using a daily rate determined by the child\u2019s level of care.

Each child in care earns two alternative care\/respite days a month. Another licensed Oasis foster family will provide alternative care\/respite for your child and is based on availability.

Oasis provides a clothing allowance for spring & fall clothing as well as an allowance for a winter coat. An additional clothing allowance may be requested for initial clothing purchase or for special needs.

As a highly trained foster parent you are a professional who is certified and licensed to work in a cooperative planning program with your foster child. You will help decide the goals for a child to be successful in your home.

You will be treated professionally with personal support from Oasis professionals.

You will receive weekly contact from an Oasis case manager.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

How Do I Begin?<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n

1.<\/strong>\u00a0Call our offices at 740-698-0340 to request your application packet.

2.<\/strong>\u00a0Attend 24\u00a0hours of initial training in four\u00a0classes. Classes are held on Saturdays and Sundays. First Aid\/CPR (AED) classes will also be provided.

3.<\/strong>\u00a0Licensing requirements are given at the Orientation session.\u00a0 Some of these are:
*Physical examination for each household member.
*Three\u00a0references.
*BCI & FBI criminal check\/fingerprinting as well as a local background check.
*Home study.
*Fire and Safety Check.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n
